Professional Advisor of the Year Lauds Foundation

When John Hunter received the Professional Advisor of the Year Award at last year’s Annual Luncheon, his acceptance speech seemed suspiciously scripted.

He used words like “flexibility” and “reliability” – the exact words mentioned earlier by the Community Foundation of North Texas board and staff.

Hunter laughed and was quick to say the messages were strangely similar because the description of the Community Foundation was accurate and true.

Hunter, a partner with The Blum Firm in Fort Worth, applauded the Community Foundation’s flexibility, because of its “willingness to work with me and my clients.”

He also said the Community Foundation’s strong board oversight made it an appealing option for his clients. Hunter said it provides instant trust and credibility.

He also cited the Community Foundation’s reliability and “can-do attitude.” He said the staff is constantly saying, “We will make this work for you.”

Hunter specializes in the areas of planning for closely-held businesses, estate planning and administration, asset protection planning, tax planning and charitable planning.

He added the Community Foundation’s Professional Advisor of the Year honor to an already impressive list of distinctions, including being named a “Texas Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly magazine for four straight years. He was also recognized by Fort Worth, Texas magazine as one of Tarrant County’s Top Attorneys in Tax Law for 2008.

Hunter and wife, Carmen, live in Fort Worth with their three children.
